Construction acceleration solution speeds-up restoration work for KONE France
KONE, a leading global urban transport company, has launched KONE SiteFlow, a digital solution developed to boost construction site productivity. Designed to speed up project completion, this digital tool not only improves productivity but also ensures safety, eases working conditions, reduces operational costs, as well as provide easy access to equipment and tools for workers. It facilitates the fast and secure transport of people, materials, and equipment through intelligent remote management.
Deployed for the first time in France, this construction project management tool is being used to digitize the restoration of the Pasteur student housing complex located in Lyon’s 7th district.
KONE SiteFlow: Smooth construction
KONE SiteFlow enables site supervisors to better manage the transport of people and materials via mobile devices or computers, from anywhere at any time. When integrated with KONE construction elevators, this tool can substantially speed up project completion by offering features like:
Priority Call: Allows managers to remotely control elevator operations for important deliveries and transportation.
Tool Finder: Utilizes RFID tagging to keep track of equipment, enhancing workflow management from a distance. In the premium version, even helmets are equipped with RFID so that workers can be immediately guided and supported from afar as needed.
Live View: Provides real-time visibility into bottlenecks, identifying any unnecessary elevator delays.
Floor Lock: Enables controlled access to specific floors to enhance security and prioritize essential work areas.
Data Insights: Offers valuable information into elevator usage for smart planning of movement on the site.
User-Friendly: Designed for ease of use and flexible access.
No more waiting: Workers can skip the queue to access the construction elevator.
KONE SiteFlow goes live at a major restoration project in Lyon

Located at the intersection of Rue Pasteur and Rue Salomon Reinach in Lyon's bustling 7th district, the Pasteur Residence is undergoing a significant upgrade. This project involves adding a two-story wooden structure to the existing building, expanding its capacity to house 70 student units in addition to two commercial spaces. Faced with challenges such as high traffic and strict building regulations, this project demonstrates KONE's commitment to providing accessible housing solutions for the youth. The project is scheduled for completion in the third quarter of 2024, with GCC AURECA! Agency overseeing the restoration efforts
"Through this pilot project in Lyon, we are excited to demonstrate how innovative solutions can drive faster and more efficient building restorations," added Fedy.

Lyon as a hub for KONE innovation
KONE values the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region as a strategic location for piloting its new solutions. In 2021, KONE partnered with Yunji Technology to integrate robotics with KONE DX elevators via an API, digitalizing services in the hospitality sector. This innovation debuted at the Campanile Smart Lyon Bron hotel, providing guests with a unique interactive experience with the robot.
Following this, KONE and the Lyon National Opera collaborated to promote a circular economy by reusing elevator components, significantly reducing the carbon footprint of 177 modernized units within a year. This successful partnership underscores KONE's commitment to sustainable development and innovative urban transport solutions.
